Zakat al-Fitr Reminder - It is reported that the Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: "Remember! Zakat al-Fitr is Wajib (strongly recommended, just short of obligatory) on every Muslim, man or woman, free or in servitude, adult or child.” (Hadith: Tirmidhi's Sunan). Zakat al-fitr is a flat amount per household member paid by the head of the household for himself and his or her dependents. It is estimated for $10 per person for the year 2010 and should be paid early enough so it will reach the needy and the poor before the Eid day.

On the authority of Aishah, who said : The messenger of Allah said: "He who innovates something in this matter of ours that is not of it will have it rejected." narrated by Bukhari and Muslim And in one version by Muslim it reads : "He who does an act which our matter is not [in agreement] with will have it rejected."
