Friday Night Halaqah (circle of knowlege) has been a tradition since the start of ICBR. The Halaqa usually starts after Maghreb prayer. The halaqa is usually 30-45 minutes long. Various topics are covered during the session. The Halqah is usually presented by the Imam of ICBR. Occasionally, the Halaqa is taught by visiting scholars.

The Halaqa is usually followed by a quick snack/tea program called Tea Social. For the latest info about timing of Halaqa please see ICBR calendar of events.

There are several Halaqas each Friday night after Maghreb:

  • Young Muslimahs-ages 13 to 26. This halaqa covers many different topics and is conducted in English. For more information, contact Young Muslimahs of Baton Rouge (YM Baton Rouge) at the Instagram account @young_muslims.
  • Sisters Halaqa: For adults, this covers a variety of topics and is typically held in the library downstairs. The halaqa is in Arabic but there will be English translation.

For young men, there is are Friday night activities from 6 PM to 8:30 pm.
